Why the sick people of Whitefish are put on public trial as the city counsel once again chooses not to be leaders but rather to defer to antiquated positions that no longer are relevent.
They say they are afraid:
“The recommended plan was passed on to the council, where councilors voiced multiple concerns, including whether approving something that is illegal at the federal level violates their oaths of offices, police worries over enforcement and more’
Yet they are elected to follow MONTANA LAW and to serve MONTANA CITIZENS and that should be the issue.
Not everyone support MMJ but for the seriously ill and palliative care patients this is a lifeline to prevent the permanent damage done by long term narcotic use EVEN WHEN PRESCRIBED BY PHYSICIANS. It is a matter of choice and should be left up to the individual and their physician. PERIOD.

There are plenty of places in the valley to get these legal drugs—I think Whitefish was very wise to wait until the state talks about it again next January as the Governor has requested. I wish this was just about the “REAL” sick people - it would then be easy.
