Meeting scheduled for Nov. 30 at Hilton
Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. We don’t always have someone moderating comments, so we ask for your help: If you see a comment that violates these ground rules, or you simply deem it offensive, please e-mail webmaster [at] flatheadbeacon.com.

The views expressed in the comments section do not reflect those of the Beacon.

This is a good thing. Now we need to ask the questions, Do you not hear us? We do not want the F.A.A. funded expansion of the Kalispell City Airport at this location. What are the options of other Locations elsewhere? Does not the Site Selection Study say it costs less to move it somewhere else? Why was 3 million dollars spent on the airport expansion before we knew if we had the F.A.A. funding? Did the F.A.A. not tell you that you must first midagate the Radio Towers and purchase the 70 plus acres of land? Did these people not tell you they were not going to sell there land or did you not ask? Were you planning to just do condemnation on there property anyway? Is this what one calls putting the cart before the horse? Everyone, please write down your comments and concerns, and ideas and questions and be at the Nov. 30th. meeting. Make sure you have a copy of your questions and concerns and ideas to hand in for the record. They must be answered! Demand answers to your questions! Not only the ones they want to answer, all of them! We have already heard there sales pitches, we don’t buy it. We don’t like it! We are saying if you want it move it! Or shut the airport down! Read our lips! If you will not compromise, we want it put to the vote of the people! We the people have been transparent, open and honest, telling it like it is. Try this new concept.

The city needs to inform it’s residents of this Scoping Meetings. Why was there not a flyer put out in the water bill, or a mailer to all city addresses. Let’s see a banner across main street. It would be the only right thing to do. Don’t you want the public to get involved?
