The great thing about this article is it really illustrates how individual legislators do their own thing.
They’re up there pushing for bills they like, or their constituents like, and not just following orders from
party bosses. It’s not about some “Republican Party” or “Democrat party” agenda, it’s individual
legislators doing their jobs. I enjoyed reading about legislator bills in a way that doesn’t make it seem
like the bills represent a political party.

I didn’t realize Sen. Verdell Jackson is a socialist.  Creating a state bank is a textbook
socialist move.

The only state bank in the U.S., the Bank of North Dakota (BND), was created in 1919 by the
socialist Nonpartisan League (NPL) when they gained control of ND’s governor and both houses of
the legislature.  The BND has taken a role more akin to a central bank and has many functions,
such as check clearing, that might be expected from a branch office of the Federal Reserve.  So
is Jackson in favor of the Federal Reserve also?

Extending commissions, spending money on planning… wow… are you sure Jackson is a Republican?
