reggie- you propose some good questions. And to a degree can agree w/your last statement. Until you propose-“I personally feel that EVERY church that uses the pulpet to advocate
partisan political action must lose tax exempt status.”
What happens when the gov’t goes on the offense and atttacks our religious freedoms as we
have witnessed, personally, since the 60’s ?
The gov’t has taken the meaning of religious freedom too far when it means that I cannot even
mention the name ‘God’ in school. To me religious freedom means that I can practice what ever
religion I chose. Even if that religion is non-existent, such as atheistism.
I do not beleive that it was ever intended to mean ‘freedom from religion’ by an stretch of
interpretation.

Let’s revoke the 501(c)(3) status of all organizations that hope to have a political influence on their members and the public at large through their activities. Planned Parenthood and the Sierra Club
would be a great start.
Throw in the churches as well. Wouldn’t bother me.

Would everybody’s opinion remain the same if this was a MUSLIM school?
What is the meaning of “freedom of religion”? Does it include not funding religious
organizations we don’t agree with?
If these questions disturb you, what answer fits every instance except: No public funding of
religous endevors? The seperation of church and state was implemented to protect both
church and state. I personally feel that EVERY church that uses the pulpet to advocate
partisan political action must lose tax exempt status.

If you know the constitution, you know it protects the minority, the greatest minority is one person.

The phrase freedom and liberty have been so over used, it is just a cliché, totally meaningless in this context.
And creedence don’t you think that Constitutional Issues are bigger then just one person?

The parents say it is unconstitutional, the state will say it is unconstitutional; the little girl will be fourteen by the time it gets to the Supreme Court. That’s the craziness….

I will error to the side of freedom and liberty.

By creedence on 11-21-12 @ 6:44 pm

I want my tax dollars used for education, but not for teaching religion. I agree that tax payer dollars don’t belong funding any kind of religious school.
