Flathead County Animal Shelter makes ends meet in trying times

This shelter is a lifeline for some of the most loving cats and dogs you’ll ever meet.  Thank you
to the hard working staff who help the animals there.  It’s no place for a cat or dog to spend a
life though - they need caring homes.  People are STILL paying money for purebreds when
these amazing cats and dogs are languishing in the harsh environment of a shelter waiting for
a loving home. Tell your friends, Think Shelter First.

Glad to see you showing some human compassion for less fortunate creatures…there’s hope for you yet…now
extend that to those with just two legs….

Support this extremely important shelter with donations and volunteering your time. As for the bitter
Nag(s) who use this important story as a political forum, be good and there might be a extra Milk Bone
in it’s bowl tomorrow!

You need to read my comment on people NOT paying attention in High School….guess what it
happens alll the time, and then they blame everyone but themselves…go figure!

These “money saving ideas” sound good until you consider that some local people will no
longer have a job as a result. These hidden outcomes need to be considered. The foreclosures
and unemployment payments that come about are very expensive to you and I who actually
pay for these things.

I had read that sherrif Joe in Az took over the county animal shelter and uses prisoners to op. &
run the shelter. They want to do the job as it is a break from the cells and tents. They also cherish
the attention the animals give back to them.
With proper screening and oversite of certain prisoners, why does not the county at least have a
look at this possibilty ?

Why not bring in students to help the animals?  Would be a good education on what animals
need and may bring the animals some new homes.

Maybe the staff shouldn’t tell people visiting the animals to leave and not come back.
