Sept. 11 10-Year Memorial

To the sound of bagpipes, a parade of St. Matthew's students, faculty and friends carrying American flags made its way from St. Matthew's Church to the Kalispell Fire Department on Friday. Each flag, 343 in all, was placed at the Sept. 11 10-Year Memorial outside the fire station doors on First Avenue East. According to a plaque on the memorial, the flags "stand in solemn memory of the 343 New York City Firefighters who selflessly gave their lives to save others" during attacks in New York.
