Bravettes Beat Hellgate, Advance to State
In a divisional match-up with a state tournament berth on the line, the Flathead Bravettes jumped out to a 9-2 lead en route to 21 first-quarter points and never looked back, taking down Missoula Hellgate 62-44 at Flathead High School Saturday afternoon.
The Bravettes, 13-8 (8-5), will be Western AA's No. 4 seed in the state tournament this week in Great Falls, kicking off the tourney against the east's No. 1 seed Butte High on March 6 at 10:30 a.m.

Braves Blow Late Lead, Fail to Make State
The Flathead Braves gave up 28 points in the fourth quarter to blow a late lead and lose to the Missoula Big Sky Eagles 76-71 in a divisional contest at Flathead High School Saturday night.
With the win, the Eagles advance to the state tournament held in Great Falls March 6-8. The Braves finish the season with a 15-6 (7-6) record.

O’Connell Wins Soccer Player of the Year

Meghan O’Connell was minutes away from taking her SAT when a friend asked her how she felt – not about the test but about winning the 2007-08 Gatorade Montana Girls' Soccer Player of the Year.
O’Connell wasn’t aware she had won.
“I didn’t know at all,” she said.

Brie Webber loves structure.
At school, from her locker to her binders, everything has its place – creating a kind of functional, aesthetic beauty in organization, just like ballet.
Webber began dancing at age 3 and has been with Northwest Ballet School and Company ever since.

Flathead Basketball Living up to the Hype
So far, they’ve lived up to the hype.
The Flathead Braves’ boys basketball team entered this season with what coach Fred Febach thought could be the best team he’s had in his five years at the helm. After a 6-0 start, including wins in their first two Class AA games, the Braves have done nothing to dispel that notion.
