After a few weeks of alternating between warm, dry practices on the soon to be refinished city tennis courts and cold, wet snowy days that force them indoors, the Columbia Falls High School tennis teams have started their tournament season.
This weekend (Friday and Saturday), they met Whitefish and Bigfork, but went down in defeat in both matches.
The photos behind the read more link (at right) are from Friday's match in Whitefish, which was played at the city courts next to the post office and at Grouse Mountain Lodge.

These are Flathead County’s high school all-star basketball teams, as chosen by the Beacon. We’ve ignored class distinctions and conference limitations to round up what we feel would be the best squads to match up against any other all-star teams in the state. There’s a lot of talent in this county – if such a county vs. county tournament were to ever be played, we like our chances.
