Slide Show: Kayaking the Wild Mile
Hundreds of competitors braved the whitewater rapids – coined the "Wild Mile" – of the Swan River during the annual Bigfork Whitewater Festival. At the height of spring runoff, the "wild mile" is considered Class V whitewater. The weekend includes the expert slalom races as well as a four-mile paddle, 18-mile bike and four-mile run triathlon and draws several thousand spectators.
