What is FLICKR?
FLICKR.com is a web site hosting the largest community of photographers on the planet. It is a place to share your photos and meet other photo-lovers. The Flathead Beacon has a group on FLICKR where we invite photographers of all experience levels to share their photos of the Flathead Valley. These photos appear in a "FLICKR feed" in our Photos & Videos section, and may be chosen to be featured by our photo editor, with your permission. Have beautiful photos from your recent trip to Glacier? How about killer snaps of high school sports events? What about a newsworthy shot from your Flathead Valley community? Please add them to our FLICKR pool and share them with the rest of the Valley. We only ask that the photos be suitable for all viewers.
How to join FLICKR
A basic photosharing account on FLICKR is free, and if you already have an account with Yahoo!, you're ready to go. If you're already a member of FLICKR or have a Yahoo! account, go to the FLICKR front page and sign in. Otherwise, go to the FLICKR home page and click "Sign in" and then "Sign up" on the next page to create your Yahoo! account.
How to add photos to the Flathead Beacon photo group
Once you've signed up and you've posted photos to your FLICKR account, visit the Flathead Beacon group page and click "Join this Group?". Once you've joined the group, you can add photos to the group by clicking the "Send to Group" button located above your individual photos and choosing the Beacon group in the pull-down menu. You can post up to three images a day.
Other ways to contribute

Photo Ethics for freelancers and contributors:
Photographs must not be staged or posed. Photographers should not interfere with or alter any scene when shooting a photograph other than a portrait or illustration. Portraits and illustrations should be unmistakable to the reader and must be labeled as such. All illustrations must be discussed with the photo editor prior to their execution.
Photographers will not manipulate images or add or alter sound in any way that can mislead viewers or misrepresent subjects. If filters are used for effect they should be disclosed. If photographers are unsure of post-production work they must consult the photo editor.
Photo captions must be provided and fully explain the picture's context and content.
The origin of the photo, whether submitted, produced by staff or marketing sources, should be clearly labeled.
Photographers will conduct themselves in a professional manner and treat all subjects with respect and dignity.
Submitted photographs are held to the same ethical standards as those made by our staff photographers.

We offer access to the Website to members of the public ("Visitors"). - 3.2 Quality of Content. We do not review Content posted by Members before it is posted on the Website, and therefore we do not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of your Content or the Content of other Members and cannot assure that harmful, inaccurate, deceptive, or objectionable Content will not appear on the Website. - 6.1 WE ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERROR, OMISSION, INTERRUPTION, DELETION, DEFECT, DELAY IN OPERATION OR TRANSMISSION, COMMUNICATIONS LINE FAILURE, THEFT OR DESTRUCTION OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO, OR ALTERATION OF, USER COMMUNICATIONS. Because we have no control over such websites or resources, you acknowledge and agree that Flathead Beacon is not responsible for the availability of such web sites or resources, and does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such websites or resources. You also acknowledge and agree that We shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such websites or resources. You understand that any such website are subject to the policies and procedures of the operator of such website.
12. Additional Terms.
- 12.1 Notices. Except as otherwise stated, any notice to us shall be given by certified mail to Flathead Citizen, LLC, Attention Copyright Notices, 217 Main Street, Kalispell MT 59901. And any notice to you shall be given to the e-mail address that you provided Us during the registration process. Notice shall be considered given 24 hours after e-mail is sent, unless the sending party is notified that the e-mail address is invalid. Notice given by postal mail shall be considered given three (3) days after the date of mailing.
- 12.2 Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Flathead Beacon, superseding any prior agreements between you and Flathead Beacon.
- 12.3 Governing Law. This Agreement and the relationship between you and Flathead Beacon shall be governed by the laws of the State of Montana without regard to its conflict of laws provisions, as such laws are applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within Montana between Montana residents. You and Flathead Beacon agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the State of Montana.
- 12.4 Assignment. You agree that this Agreement and all incorporated agreements may be assigned by Us, in Our sole discretion, to one or more third parties in connection with the merger, acquisition, or reorganization of Flathead Beacon.
- 12.5 No Waiver. Flathead Beacon's failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision and does not waive Our right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
- 12.6 Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, you and Flathead Beacon nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and that the other provisions of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect.
- 12.7 Limitation. You and Flathead Beacon each agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to the use of Our services or this Agreement must be filed within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.
- 12.8 Titles. The section titles in this Agreement are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect.
- 12.9 Survival. The provisions of this Agreement shall survive the completion, expiration, termination or cancellation of this Agreement to the extent that they are necessary to carry out the intention of the parties.
