Good morning and
happy birthday to Beacon alumnus and wildlife expert Jack Hanna! And Happy belated New Year!
On the Beacon this morning, on the off chance you haven't looked outside,
it's snowing. Hard. Property rights group
American Dream Montana gave a delightful Christmas treat to Flathead County commissioners: notice that it was renewing its lawsuit over subdivision regulations. With home prices dropping throughout the valley,
those in a position to buy see opportunity. The Whitefish man accused of putting his girlfriend's 5-year-old son in a tub of scalding water
has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and criminal mischief. And
Warren Miller has some advice for those skiers stuck in Seattle buried in snow and far from any ski resorts.
The state newspapers are filled with reports of
Polar Bear Plunges all over Montana. The heavy snow has
improved Montana's snowpack both east and west of the continental divide.
Gallatin County led the state in home foreclosures in November.
And
Robbie Knievel, some of the late daredevil Evel, rang in the New Year with a huge jump in Las Vegas. Have a great day and please be safe if you absolutely have to get on the roads.
