An artist from Bigfork, a photographer from Somers, a light designer from Lakeside, a costume mistress from West Valley, a director from Creston, and dancers from as far south as Polson to as far north as Columbia Falls...this is what it's taken over the last 2 months to put together the Northwest Ballet Company's 31st annual spring show production, "Alice in Wonderland". And what a collaboration it is!
"I love sharing my vision with those I'm working with on this project, and then watching where their passions take flight within their own specialties," states Roth. That has been the case across the board, with a brand new backdrop for the theater painted by artist Linda Ensign, brilliant photography and poster design by Trevon Baker, light designs and theater effects by the talents of Deb Possin, and the always amazing costuming by Janet Hunt. And her Northwest Ballet Company dancers are no less of an inspiration! "I have had more fun than a person at 'work' should be allowed to have, setting this ballet on my dancers. They are truly talented and spirited young artists who have probably burned more calories from laughing than they have from dancing most evenings in rehearsals! I couldn't have asked for a better place to focus my energies and feel blessed everyday."
