Majestic Valley Arena is closing its doors, though hopefully just for a few months. The state
Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from Wayne Hixon of Eureka, convicted of murder in 2005. The
federal government appears to have tentatively rejected a proposal by BNSF railway to blast within Glacier National Park for avalanche control.
Two grizzlies moved into the Cabinet Mountain wilderness to augment the population there have been killed.
In Butte, the
politics are getting stinky. According to the secretary of state's office, at least
175,000 absentee ballots have been cast so far. And celebrated conservationist, author and angler
George Grant died Sunday at the age of 102.
Finally,
