MISSOULA – The National Weather Service has issued more flood warnings covering a wide area in western Montana.
The Weather Service issued a dozen flood warnings Tuesday for points along the Bitterroot, Flathead, St. Regis, Fisher and Yaak rivers and some of their tributaries.
The agency said minor flooding was already occurring in some area. Forecasters said flooding was expected to remain minor except along the Fisher River near Libby, where moderate flooding was predicted.
With temperatures reaching the mid-80s to low 90s and most river basins holding plentiful snowpack, state and federal officials have been advising people across western Montana to prepare for possibile flooding.
