Whitefish Girls Run Past Columbia Falls

The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs used a 19-point halftime cushion en route to a comfortable 52-32 victory over the Columbia Falls Wildkats in the third game of the Northwest A divisional tournament.

The No. 3 Bulldogs built a 7-0 lead before the No. 6 Wildkats found two points from the charity stripe with 3:58 left in the opening frame. Whitefish continued to press full-court leading to more Columbia Falls turnovers and 13-4 first quarter advantage.

The Bulldog defense held Columbia Falls to 10 points in the first half.

Kate Klundt of the Lady Bulldogs led all scorers with 12 points, while teammate Ashley Ferda added 11. Alyssa Ladenburg and Shay Grilley each had eight points to lead Columbia Falls.

Whitefish moves on to play the No. 3 Libby Loggers on Friday at 6 p.m.
